This is what their real time email updates were telling me today

Louisville, KY, United States 10/15/2013 4:22 P.M. Departure Scan

then I get this 50 minutes later

Phoenix, AZ, United States 10/15/2013 5:12 P.M. Arrival Scan

fastest shipping ever.

Hate to burst your bubble, but those times are almost guaranteed to be in local time.
So what you aren't seeing accounted is the two hours difference in time zones between the two cities.

edit: scratch that - at least, some of it.

Arizona doesn't observe DST, so right now they are.. three hours behind EDT?
That's more like it for time as well - westerly flights are often slower, and those are typically big ol' lumbering birds for parcel/freight delivery. Plus factor in the time between actually landing and that particular package getting scanned once in the sort facility.

1730 miles in 3 hours 50 minutes, air hub to air hub. Not bad.

Including loading, unloading, taxing, lift off, take off, this is freakin' impressive.

Your typical airliner cruises at 550-600 mph... and that's only after all of the above has been done.

Just wait until you get a delivery notification and the package doesn't show up for another 3 days.
