I just got a free APC 300 Back-UPS and was wondering if it could serve as a small 1min or less black-out UPS for my system. I have a 400-watt ps in the rig using full load 310wat, just browsing about 250?? I was also considering hooking up my monitor as to also have the option to shut-down. It's a Samsung 19'955df... I think the monitor will to much for the little UPS.
Here's the UPS's spec on powerOutput
Output power capacity 300 VA
Output power capacity 180 Watts
Nominal output voltage 120 V
Waveform type Stepped approximation to a sinewave
Output Connections (2)NEMA 5-15R
Now I know it says "Output power capacity 180 Watts" but is that what my PS is drawing?? Does that mean if I'm surfing (250watt draw) I would need at UPS that could do OPC250+??
This might be a stupid question but?? I still need the answer.
Thanks
Kook
Here's the Monitor Spec's justcause
Power Voltage AC90-264V, 60/50 3Hz,
Universal Power
And also would I trip the surge protection if the load was too much for it or would it just try to do what it can till it runs out of power?
