OLD APC 1200 VX, no info anywhere on it that I see, can probibly spend way to much money on correct replacement batteries, but I'm going cheap, and it was free, so...

The batts in it are dead, it seems alright otherwise as near as I can tell.

I have a pair of 12v batts from a HUGE UPS rack at a Hardees corprate office that was mostly washed away, I snagged several of their batteries. They apear to be sealed deep cycle-ish batts, specificaly UPS batts. I want to use a pair to replace the two shot one's in this UPS, it runs 24v DC off the bats, so my pair of 12's can be hooked up correctly, just wondering if I'm missing anything else? Also wondering what kind run time a slightly more than normal comp might get off those two monster batts (car batt size, physicaly atleast, just MUCH heavier, lotta lead). My only real concern is can the UPS charge them, but being a slow drain, I'm betting it can.

Thoughts?

thanks..

Its me again ;)

The bigger the better. Wire it up. You should have no problem charging batteries no matter how big it is, they will jsut take longer to charge. Give it a week to charge. Then unplug the UPC and see how long it keeps your system up for. My 500 VA system keeps my main computer up for 15 mins or so.
