UPS package bound for Cambridge MA is "out for delivery"

The tracking message has said "out for delivery" since this past friday... except that it's in Englewood, CO as opposed to Cambridge, MA.

Is this a common mistake in the UPS tracking system, or is my package actually floating around in some delivery truck in Colorado?

The estimated delivery date is this Wednesday (ordered last Tuesday... slow as shit), which is the absolute latest I can have this item.

So yeah, should I be concerned? Should I have been concerned a long time ago and already called UPS? Are there other options available to me?

I hate UPS,

I had the same issue just the other day. Called UPS, and they acted all surprised, but assured me the package was still in transit, so all was good.
It is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
We'll see.

paulney: That sucks. Let me know if the thing actually arrives or not... it would suck pretty hard if my package doesn't get here by Wednesday.

FleshLight: The box originated from somewhere in Utah (the UPS check-in station is at Ogden), so I don't think the shipper has mailed it to themselves.

At the risk of stating the obvious, perhaps it was unwise to ship a time-sensitive package via UPS ground service? 😕

I gave them more than a week... 🙁

Also, we only budgeted for stuff+ground ship, and at the time I didn't feel like shelling out my own money to upgrade shipping. (The only other available carrier was USPS for $10 more--double the UPS ground amount.)

God fvcking dammit!
UPS says I need to contact the shipper and run a tracer on the lost package.

Arghghghg.

How'd you find out? Did they call you back or does it show up on the tracking site?

Damnit, that doesn't bode well for my package.

DIAF UPS.

Last time i shipped something UPS it said it was already delivered to somewhere in Ohio in March...even though I ordered it in August and had it shipped to NY. It ended up arriving ok though.

Doesn't matter. We've shipped time sensitive items next day air only to have them "Out for Delivery" in a city 400 miles away from the delivery address.
UPS's response? "We need to wait for an arrival scan before we can reroute the package."
Me: "There won't be an arrival scan because the package is supposed to be delivered 200, 300, however-bad-they-screwed up miles away!"
UPS: " 😕 "

UPS sometimes recycles tracking numbers before they actually clear the old tracking info. I've had it happen a couple of times at work.

All this concern of an item you "had to have" by tomorrow ... yet you went "on the cheap" to get it there. I never did believe in the old adage "You get what you pay for" ... that is until now.

Good luck ...

I called them a day before scheduled delivery because the package has not arrived at their local hub, and no updates have been posted since it was 'out for delivery'. As soon as I connected to an agent, she told me right away I had to contact the seller to run a trace.

So much for 'we'll monitor your package for progress, sir' they told me the first time I called them.

Im sorry, but that cant be possible. Assuming the tracking number is 20 alphanumeric characters long that is 6.8719e+46 possible combinations.

Same thing happened to me recently.

After a few hours of saying "Our for Delivery" it said "Routing error. Package being sent to correct hub."

It added 4 days to my delivery time. Bastards.

how can that not be possible? I have had it done to me numerous times also. I think you need to pop your head out of the books and step into the real world.
