UPS or Fedex for a computer to Canadaland?

I need to ship a computer out as a gift (it really is a gift) to Canada. Which would be cheaper (I don't have dimensions or weight, so I can't calculate). I am more worried about the bullshit customs/dities/tarrifs/whatnot.

Thoughts?

UPS is REALLY bad as they charge really high custom fees to Canadians.
Best one is probably USPS for us Canadians, otherwise go the fedex route (dont really know their custom charges though)

Send it USPS, Global Priority.
It'll get there faster, no customs, no duties, tariffs, etc.
From what I understand, with UPS or FedEx, you will pay some type of duty on it or it won't get delivered.
Even declaring it a gift won't help, they will still want an estimated value, and if customs gets suspicious, they will open it and check the contents and declare the value themselves.

Um, isn't a 20 some pound package going to be insane expensive?

Cheaper than sending it UPS, and getting screwed over with huge fees.

You will most likely get raped. Send it with USPS if at all possible.

I got a $40 item shipped to me here in Vancouver from the US by UPS a few months ago, and they tried to charge me $50 in brokerage fees after it got here, in addition to the shipping I paid in advance! $40 item suddenly becomes over $100.

With USPS, it gets handed off to CanadaPost at the border, and you will most likely still have to pay import duties, but no ridiculous brokerage fees for someone to fill out a couple forms.
