Hey man,

I don't have a receipt because I printed the label at home through my online account. Basically what UPS is telling me is that they will refund the amount it cost to ship (~$35) but that they can't reimburse me the $100 minimum that was stated as the value since they have no record of being in possession of the package.

I don't know exactly what happened, but my guess is that either my package was never scanned in at the UPS store or the package walked out of the store. I have dropped off a ton of packages at this store before and the guys that work there know me quite well. I don't think they did anything funny with the package.

Yeah, a real fun ride for me. I just want this to be done with and behind me. I feel horrible for holding you up and I am really not getting any help from UPS (shocker).
I'm pissed, either someone is getting negative feedback or UPS is getting me my router.

I guess you can leave a package at UPS, one of their workers can take it and then UPS has no obligation to reimburse you for your loss? If I call them up, will I get anywhere?

who is this someone that is going to get negative feedback? mr. pitts has refunded your money, correct? so you are not out anything but some frustration and the disappointment of not potentially getting a free router? I'm unclear why you would have gotten a free router anyway, if UPS had honored the insurance, mr. pitts would be the one getting the insurance money..

I can understand him being quite upset by this whole episode because he neither has his money, or his router at this point but you.. seem to have broken even on the transaction..

negative feedback.. don't trade with this guy, UPS lost the package and he willingly and politely refunded my money?

perhaps I missed something..

I paid him September 2, he said he'd ship it that week. I didn't hear from him until the 8th, he said his job had been keeping him, but he'd ship it that day and be upgrading the shipping. He then contacts me again on the 15th and says that he still hasn't shipped it, due to his job. He's refunding my money but shipping the router anyway. On the 24th, he contacts me again and says that he will ship it next Monday (Sept 26). On the 27th, he gives me the tracking number, on the 29th he asks if I've received it yet. I tell him no. On the 5th he told me that he did drop off the package (and the tracking number worked for awhile), but UPS has no record of it at all.

I create this thread.

Yes, I have my money back. But he wasted a good month of my time with his delays and then this UPS fiasco. I want the router, I don't want my money.

I apologise.. I missed the part where he refunded your money before he shipped the router, and then shipped it anyway. that was very nice of him. 🙂 most people would have just said I'm sorry, life has gotten in the way and I can't get this to you in a timely manner, here's your money back and be done with it. and.. most people would accept that as a good resolution.. I mean.. life happens to everyone. sometimes stuff comes up and you can't do what you thought you could.

I thought I followed the thread but as I said the first time, I might have missed something and.. it appears I did.

of course you're disappointed.. that was going to be a free router. 🙁 what an unfortunate situation. I'm sure mr. pitts is disappointed too, his schedule sucked, he was slack with mailing because of it, he refunded your money and gave away his router and paid a premium shipping price to do it and still he's left with an unhappy trader. it's a lousy situation from all sides.

still.. life's too short to get so worked up over something that's beyond anyone's control.. since you haven't actually lost anything other than expectations, wouldn't it be best just to shop for another router?

the only way mr. pitts can fix this so that you're happy at this point is to go out and buy another router and send it to you. I'm sure that would make you happy but if you were reading about this situation in a thread you didn't start.. would you consider that a reasonable solution? it's not a reasonble solution.
