I ordered from newegg yesterday over lunch. It's on the truck for delivery today. UPS Ground. Normally a Monday morning order doesen't make it to a Philly suburb until Thursday morning.... Normally they have to go through Newark when leaving Edison... I guess not anymore...

Arrived over lunch today. 24 hours from clicking order to having it in my hands at the office with UPS Ground. Wow. Go newegg!

I hate you. My mobo/ram are "out for delivery" since 1:41am, but it's 2:30 and I still haven't seen hide nor hair of a UPS truck.

UPS gets a lot of grief on here, but they've always done well in my experience.

Having worked in the shipping center for a major fortune 500 company one summer I had to deal with FedEx and UPS (as well as freight deliveries) all day long. It's changed a bit since then as FedEx is doing a lot more non-document shipments these days. But I think a lot of the reason UPS used to catch more grief over damaged shipments was due to the sheer fact that they were usually dealing with FAR more deliveries of 'regular' packages than FedEx - therefore they had far more opportunities to screw up breakable items. The FedEx guy could drop off a morning shipment of 50 separate packages and it barely took up 1/10th his truck space as it was all small packages and document envelopes. The UPS guy would drop off a shipment of 50 packages and it would take up half his truck as they were bulkier items that were generally more fragile.

For my own personal deliveries now, I get everything routed to my office. Both companies tend to a much better job taking care of their business customers than personal customers. Plus we have a receptionist here who can sign for anything in case somebody requires a signature.
