UPS is phenomenally worthless. *RANT*

Ordered some speakers from Ascend on Thursday, and they shipped yesterday, 11/24.

The Ascend office is literally 5-10 minutes from the Gardena UPS hub, which in turn is about 20-25 minutes straight down the street from my office.

This morning nothing came via UPS (usually arrives ~ 10AM), and I checked the status: "In Transit" - Est. Delivery 11/25

It's been "In Transit" ALL DAY LONG.

HOW LONG does it take to drive a package 0.5 mile to the hub then 5 miles to my office??

Now it's 5PM, quitting time, and still no speakers.

I called UPS to check on it, and the automated tracking system did nothing but verify my suspicions that UPS is staffed almost entirely by the mentally handicapped:

"Please say your tracking number"

"1Z 5A9 6E3 772 4323 123 1"

"You have entered 1Z 0QY 479 824 3777 899 A. Is this correct?"

"WTF."

:|

dude, your gonna love your speakers. I love my ascends to death and I wade through hell and grimstone for them. Get on UPS's balls.

lol. They will probably ship it to Canada, California, Ohio, then back to the Gardena Hub, where it will sit for a day or two, before being delivered in a horribly mangled box.

I exactly know what you mean. UPS or the vendor should make it an option where instead of having the UPS guy deliver it for you, you have them deliver the package to the hub, and you yourself can go pick it up. Because I seriously don't know when the fvck UPS will deliver my sh!t. Why bother UPS? I'd rather go pick it up myself knowing that I will have what I want in my hands ASAP instead of waiting all fvcking day with their crappy ground service. They don't deliver on Sat too which makes me even more pissed off unless it's next day delivery sat.

Must take them a couple of days to get it out of the shipping center during the holidays. Not sure.
Could be worse though, they could misroute and send it ups ground to Maine, then ship it back to you for a total shipping time of 10 business days. 😛

He took my order! 😛

Hehe in any case I wanted to come by and pick them up but he said it would be easier if they shipped them, which he did for free since I was local. 🙂

Nah, dude, the UPS guys in the trans-shipping hub are just enjoying your speakers for a lil while before they deliver them.

UPS shipments are never trackable within 24 hours. Quit whining.

That doesn't explain why my package wasn't delivered.

And for the record, every single other UPS package I've gotten has been trackable within hours, if not minutes, of me receiving the tracking info...at the very least, the same day. You should stop pulling information out your ass. It smells bad.

I'd be willing to bet most of the others here would support my exaggerated statement before supporting your assertion that UPS.com can track packages within minutes of your receipt of the tracking number. Having tracked hundreds of UPS packages, I just don't see much status until a package is scanned at the next destination point. I'll concede the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Sure, you should be annoyed, but feel free to pick FedEx next time on your dime.

Apparently you paid zero for freight, so don't be too indignant about the service.

What kind of service did you pay for? If you didn't pay for next day then you don't deserve them next day, right down the street or not.
