I had an item that was supposed to be delivered on the 30th. Next day air.

I was at home all day that day but UPS never rang the buzzer. Great. But I went downstairs and there's an info notice left behind. "Attempted delivery at 7:06 PM."

So I chat online with customer service so they can arrange for me to pick up the item. They tell me I can't pick up the item that same night because I didn't contact them before 7. (How can I call before 7 if the delivery was attempted at 7:06?) That's fine, I can pick it up the next morning.

So the next morning I traveled half an hour to their warehouse to retrieve it. The guy at the counter tells me, "I see no record of that being scheduled for pickup. It's out for delivery today." o_O So I take the long ride home, empty-handed. I wasn't planning to be home that day, so I scheduled again that night for it to be picked up the next day.

I come back the next day and they won't give the package to me because my ID doesn't have my current address on it. Well, dang. I guess I should have read the fine print.

So now we're on day 4 of a next day delivery. I called the shipper to have them change the delivery address so I'm guaranteed to be available to receive it. Checked the status of the package online "As requested, the delivery change was completed. / Delivery will be rescheduled." Done and done.

The next day, I checked the tracking number and it says "The receiver arranged to pick up this package at a UPS facility. / The receiver agreed to pick up the package this evening." NOOOOOOO!!!! No! No! D:

I called the 800 number again and told them it's to be delivered, not picked up. No problem, they say. Yes, thank you.

Day 6: Tracking the status online it says, "The UPS Proactive Response intercept for your package was modified. / Your package will be delivered to an alternate address."
Day 6.5: "The receiver arranged to pick up this package at a UPS facility."

I called the 800 number again, explain that I want the item D-E-L-I-V-E-R-E-D. They say that I changed the address and they're waiting for confirmation that the address was changed and it could take up to 48 hours. :( They ask for my phone number and say they'll call me when the request is complete.

I waited another day. Called them again and asked what the fuck is up, they said the warehouse where the package is held called me and left a voice mail (They did no such thing) and that I should call them back. I got their phone number.

Here's where shit gets real. I called the warehouse and said I'd like to know the status of a package, they immediately disconnect me and transfer me to the 800 number. No.
I called back, they disconnect me again.
I called back and say "I was transferred here from the 800 number, they told me to call you." They hung up on me again.
I called back again and immediately said "Don't hang up!"
The woman on the other line screamed "I can't track the package! Out tracking is down!" (I'm not asking you to track the package. You have it sitting five feet from you!) She hung up in my face again. I called back again, no answer.

So I call the 800 number and told them the warehouse hung up in my face. The guy on the line says he'll get his "supervisor" to handle the situation. I talked to the supervisor who said he'll call the warehouse himself and make certain this gets straightened out.

After a brief hold, the supervisor says to me "I talked to the warehouse and she went in and personally got the package with her own hand. It WILL be delivered tomorrow."

"Can you tell me why the package was arranged to be picked up several times without my authorization?"
"I don't know."
"Can you tell me why that woman hung up in my face?"
"I don't know."

But supervisor guaranteed me that my delivery was placed on a silver platter and in no uncertain terms would be delivered the next day. Guess what? It wasn't.

The next day I called back. Now UPS is saying the package is officially lost in transit.

Day 12. I contact the shipper and tell them the item was stolen by UPS. The shipper arranges an investigation.

Day 13. The item is delivered to my home bright and early.

It takes a special kind of skill to royally fuck up delivery at every last step of the process.

And it's obvious that someone at UPS attempted to steal the item or at the very least, intentionally sabotaged its delivery.

A+++++ I've never had a worse experience at any company in my entire life.
