UPS get hot even when it off

i had UPS (Power Pro 600VA) before, it didn't get hot when it off and plug-in electricity
i bought a new one (Power Pro 1200VA) but it get hot even when it off and plug-in electricity
is it ok?

I don't think it's from APC. It's sort of local brand (well, at least that's what Google told me). Never encounter that brand before, though.

Ah, I just Googled "Power Pro 1200VA" and the first returns were APC units, so I thought that unit was one in their product lineup.

If that's the case, I have no knowledge of that brand (good or bad), so they might want to contact the seller or store.

i keep plug it when it turn off, but it get hot (i turn it off but it get hot) that's why i am confuse.
i had asked the store where i bought it, they said i must unplug it from electricity, but i don't think so, cause when i plug my PowerPro 600VA it doesn't get hot, that's why i need some opinion

Hopefully someone here will have experience with that brand/model, because I never heard of them before. But if the store tells you that is normal, it could very well be. I guess you could always try to exchange it with another unit, or have them show you that's how it's supposed to work.

I generally don't recommend using "the store told me" as a good guideline for literally anything. I've had numerous people at BestBuy tell me that if you don't buy a UPS, your computer will be dead in under 2 years. That said, it's rather difficult to tell exactly how the OP is using the UPS. Generally you don't unplug UPS's from the wall. If they drained the battery and have plugged it in to recharge it, some heat is expected at that point. That's assuming they are saying the whole unit is getting hot. If we're just talking the wiring to the wall, that could be a matter of insufficient wiring for the amount of current it's drawing. Which wouldn't be surprising for a no-name UPS.
 
It's possible the 600VA UPS isn't charging when OP is checking for heat, but the 1200VA UPS is. If they use the same charger design, the 1200VA UPS will likely take ~2x as long to charge as the 600VA UPS.

Added capacity but with same charging circuitry may result extra heat. Are there any hotspots on the ups? Or the heat distributed around the ups? But if OP felt that the heat a bit excessive, OP might ask RMA to the store.
