UPS fscking sucks for short distance packages.

The USPS is far superior.

Last time I ordered something from AllElectronics, it was a small order and they shipped it via USPS. They're in California, I'm in Oregon - It arrived in 2 days.

Fast forward to a few days ago. I placed a bigger order, causing them to use UPS I guess(Since when does 6lbs require UPS?). The package was shipped on Wednesday, May 11th.

The package is due for delivery on Monday, May 16th.

I would have had it on Friday... Saturday if it didn't get into the system until the 12th, if they had used USPS.

:frown:

Oh, and all shipping companies need to start delivering on Saturday AND Sunday. The world doesen't stop on the weekends.. It's kinda ridiculous.

agreed

USPS is very expensive for anything over 2-3 lbs. when shipping Priority Mail. UPS is far cheaper for a 6-lb. package and their tracking is superior to the USPS, though their delivery may not be.

That's true about the tracking.

I wasn't really aware that UPS was cheaper for things weighing more though. Interesting.

Weird, I find UPS pretty good for short distances. I'm in the SF Bay Area, and if I order something from a company in Northern California or Western Nevada, I usually get it the next day even if I order ground.

UPS seems to no matter what take 4 days to devlier item reguardless of where you are shipping to, i.e. ship a package to florida and one to CO on the same day from AZ, 4 days later both parties get their package, wtf is up with that??? shouldn't the guy in CO get his package at least a day sooner? And the same thing coming here, had a guy ship to me from Hawaii and a guy from CA ship packages to me in AZ on the same day, both arrived on the EXACT same day, 4 days later, but the best part was a guy in NY FEDEXed (ground) me a package a day after those two shipped and it arrived a day EARLIER than the other 2 😛

what can brown do for you? well it can get your pacakges there...sooner or later...maybe

Follow that link, type in your zip, and that is how far the package goes by days from the origin zip code. UPS ground is usually VERY reliable in TNT. We don't usually deliver early or late, just right on time when we say so.

To the OP depending on your location in California the package should have been delivered either the next day or the day after. I am not sure what happened but from my experience the shipper usually has issues getting the package to us and unploaded in time so it enters the system late and the delivery date is thus moved back. Mistakes to happen but for the most part our ground is very reliable.

I have no idea about this citibank thing, I only know they used a special system developed between citi and UPS to send those tapes so that is outside the normal processing procedures.

You must be in a grey zone or something. UPS is pretty quick here. I've shipped Ground from NY to CT, NJ, PA and MD and all were delivered overnight. If you want fast, try BAX Global. We had something shipped from CA to MD via BAX and it took 2 days using their cheapest method...

Well....UPS is not teh speedy....according to their little color coded map my SWEEET OMGBBQUPSTRUCkoutsiii...NO! COME BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!

grrr....well, I'm in the 2 day range, and the package went out Friday.

They don't deliver on at least Saturdays in the US?
