I do a lot of online shopping and stuff and a few years ago I remembered that UPS rang the doorbell when you got your package, but lately for the few packages I received they didn't ring the doorbell. No big deal or anything, I just don't want a 500 dollar video card sitting on the porchstep while I'm home, I wanna be able to pick it up right when it arrives.

Hmm.

I remember they used to ring the doorbell twice, knock three times and just leave regardless of any answers. But it's still better than just leaving it there. I guess they changed drivers.

[rant]And stupid POS I ordered a Maze4 ACETAL and they gave me a Maze4 REGULAR...I'm pretty sure they perform the same but they look different. Oh well I like the look of the regular better but seriously, if they're gonna give me regular when I order acetal might as well take acetal off the damn site. [/rant]

Our UPS guy always knocks first, then rings the doorbell. Really friendly guy. We've been getting to know him pretty well because it seems like we get a package sent from Crate and Barrel everday for as a wedding present.

"Oh look honey another vase...grrr."

 for never opened wedding presents! My parents still have a bunch from when they got married four years ago, and they had already given like half of them away ;)

My guy not only didn't knock the door, he wouldn't even bother going to the door. He'd just leave it somewhere on the path from the street to the door (ie middle of the front yard). lol, he didn't even attempt to appear he gave a sh!t.

I got something from UPS an hour ago... they rang the bell + knocked on the door. I notice Fedex has been dropping & running a lot more though.

Man, thats what fedex does to me all the time. Recently I had three shipments coming to me all at the same time. A Creative MUVO from Dell shipped via DHL ($80), a GPS unti from some online site shipped via FedEx ($250), and a few 120mm case fans shipped via UPS ($20).

FedEx left the unit on my front door without even so much as knocking (we lived in an apartment at the time with an outside door).

UPS had to attempt delivery 3 times because they wanted a signature before they would leave it at my door.

DHL... well... they never actually delivered my package, they claimed it was delivered but it was not at my door or at the office. Three weeks later they let me know it's still at their hub awaiting pickup.

I think FedEx and DHL know I work for UPS so they like screwing with me, and my UPS driver is the ex-wife of my boss so I'm not sure she likes me either...

I have have never had a UPS delivery guy that rang and/or knocked on the door, just dropped the package at the door and went on his way. Kinda annoying, thus I don't use UPS anymore.

They are supposed to try the dorbell, knock, even check with neighbors before just dropping a package. Sorry you had a bad driver, most are pretty decent guys (at least the ones here are) but there are a few bad apples.

OH one time I had fedex and ups show up at my house at the exact same time. They both got out of the truck at the same times and I said please tell me you guys are going to start fighting because if so try to hold off so I can get the camera.

I tried to talk them into fake fighting just so I can have it and the ups guy seemed willing but the fedex guy had no humor :(

I ordered a color laser printer a few years ago. Drooling while waiting, I had the door to my apt open and I was sitting in the living room for it. After 30 mins after I expected it to be there I went to walk outside to see if he was in the lot delivering other packages. When I stepped out the door, I saw the "sorry we missed you" not on the floor in the hallway.

The bastard didn't want to carry the printer up the steps, so he laid the "missed you" note on the floor, because if he would have put it on the door I would have seen him as I was sitting in the living room.

I called and complained, but nothing ever happened. Another driver showed up the next day and delivered it.

At my current apt UPS will not leave a package even when I tell them to. Nor will the deliver when the average person would be at home and not at work. Even though I move into my house in 2 weeks, I'll never use UPS if I have a choice.

What can brown do for me? HOW ABOUT DELIVERING MY F@#KING PACKAGES TO ME, CAN YOU DO THAT BROWN?

Okay, I'm done!

Oh, and house link :)

Call them and complain how you caught someone taking a package from your porch because the UPS man didn't bother to ring the doorbelll or know so you had no idea it was there.

I wonder if by some miracle coincidence you ordered 2 different things from different places. One used UPS and the other FedEx. And somehow they both delivered the packages at the exact same time. Would they patiently wait for each other or would a fight pursue?

Hehe, I lived on the third floor of an apt building at the time. It was more like a dorm without an elevator.

I concour, my TDX waterblock was sitting on my doorstep this morning. I don't mind it because I live in a decent area, but if I lived in a bad part of town I would be upset.

It's nice not having to take that stupid tag down to the distribution center and pick it up at like 6pm.
