UPS definition of on time

I shipped a package to be delivered guarantee by: 10:30 am EST today. The package is not delivered yet, but when I called she told:

"The package is still on time, and will be delivered by 7:00pm"

She did apologize, but sometime an apology simply doesn't cut it. Their website still says on-time ... WTF

The package was supposed to be there by 10:30 am for a reason, someone has scheduled time to work on it ... so that is not on time in my book ? and their refund should really cover the damage caused, because we trusted them to be ON TIME.... anyways

Anyone considers this on time still?

EDIT: the package hasn't arrived yet. They even lied to me on the phone and said it was out for delivery, bastards.

I don't really have co-workers to BS with... so AT can do just as good :)

UPS only guarantees time on 1 service and that is Next Day Business Early AM which is before 10am

If you selected any other service then they have until the end of the day to deliver the item - states that on their service descriptions

With only a few extremely rare exceptions companies are not liable for any loss other than the cost of their service...that is simply the way the world works.

You will notice that companies that want a product to be somewhere on time will hand it to a person and put them on a plane. Yes, companies will pay thousands of dollars for a last minute flight to get a bag of 300 1/2 inch screws to a manufacturer....because they need them there at a certain time.

They offered two service one with regular 2 day air and the other was 2 day air guarantee 10:30am. My receipt clearly says guarantee 10:30am .... so I am not sure if you're correct.

i think tits could be useful, just about anywhere, including on a bull
or a manbearpig, tits on a manbearpig aren't worthless, so they can't really be worthless on a bull

I've had one of our UPS drivers leave a package at the end of our driveway (about 200 feet from the house) in plain sight. We have two drivers with overlapping routes apparently, one is good and the other sucks bollocks.

it states clearly on the UPS website "

Not available to destinations where UPS Next Day Air delivery is committed by end of day"

you should have asked.

"Delivery on the second business day by 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 noon to most commercial destinations "

Next day AM is the only one of their services that don't include words like "most" or "common"

Any delivery service can screw up, however Fedex is the only choice for somthing important which absolutely has to be there ontime ... I will occasionally use UPS ground service but I wouldn't even consider them for overnight stuff.

I prefer FedEx over UPS anyday.

My package has been sitting at a warehouse a couple of hours away for 4 days. In fact, it took a detour and went back to it's previous destination 30 minutes away so UPS can throttle the delivery date. I always got my packages earlier with FedEx. UPS bastards make sure this doesn't happen by even taking fucking detours.

I -wish- I could say you're exaggerating and wrong and no company would operate that way... yet I've noticed this too.

FedEx, DHL, even USPS if I track the progress of my package, generally speaking it's forward movement. maybe a slight detour to kansas or some massive regional center, but it generally makes a one way trip.

UPS though will get close to me in a day, then leave to another state... to come back, then leave again, to come back and be delivered. It has never beaten the estimated delivery time, but it sure has come to california quickly, maybe even several times over only to leave it again and arrive by or after the estimated date.
