I have a rack unit and am needing a UPS. I have seen many studies that show, with today's PSU's in computers, switches etc. pure sine wave is really recommended. There are those that argue that, but it is what it is.

Well, with that in mind, I'm trying to find a rackmount UPS with at least 700 Watts and Pure Sine Wave. This is not easy, unless I want to pay almost a grand. Most are on backorder or special order.

I could get a standard tower, but then it will take up about 5 or 6u in my rack. I guess I could put it on the bottom shelf and put my NAS on the shelf with the UPS. I really want a rackmount though.
Anyone have any words of advice?

I perfer cyberpower over APC... i have had too many APC fail on me to count with the infamous F02 error.
Google it... you can see many many people rant about the F02 error.

Anyhow its cheaper then what mxnerd posted and its 800W with only 1000VA.
Remember to calculate run time and load with ups.
If your system draws 800W, that does not translate to a 800W UPS, as that will last maybe 5-10 min before you kill the battery, not to mention UPS's do not like being at 90%+ load all the time.

I saw this UPS, but if you noticed, it says usually ships within 1 to 2 months. That is the problem I've run into. Ones I would choose, at a decent price, NOT AVAILABLE!!!!! :weary: I need it now, not in 2 months. I saw many that have what I needed. Go to B&H for instance. 90% of UPS are not available.
I did find one. I got lucky, and found it on Provantage.com. They had 1 left, and it has a 1000Watts. I like either APC or Cyberpower. I have used mainly Cyberpower also.

Check out www.excessups.com. They sell refurbished UPSes. I bought my APC SMT1500RM2U from them for around $280 and it has been running fine, but it looks like the prices have gone up a bit. You may be able to find a coupon code by searching Google.

Wow, I like this place. Thanks for the referral. I wish I would have heard about it earlier.
