Basically I bought a guitar on eBay for $400.00.

UPS broke the guitar on the way to my house through shipping and they insure up to $350.00. Apparently, SINCE they are insuring my guitar to the max, they are taking my guitar with them. The repairs cost $360.00 (around $350.00 anyways so thats not a problem). How stupid is UPS? Shouldnt they be paying me to REPAIR my guitar, not to just give me cash and make me lose my money?

It was only insured for $350. It's easier for them to give you $350 and take the guitar rather than pay you to repair it, deal with reimbursements, etc.

They could give me $350.00 to repair my guitar. Instead, they're giving me $350.00 and taking away my guitar (which costed me $400.00)

You screwed yourself by using UPS

I got a few banged up packges before... but rarely

I wouldn't take my chances with a guitar
 
Just curious...if you paid $400 for the guitar why wasn't it insured for the full amount? Sounds like the shipper is to blame as he/she skimped on the insurance.
 
it's insured for replacement, not repair.

looks like the seller ****** up by not insuring the full value.
