UPS and Will Call service

There's a package I've been waiting a couple weeks. No one was home to sign for the package so they left an InfoNotice. I went online and changed the delivery to Will Call, meaning that I'll just pick it up at UPS.

They attempted to deliver around 9:45 am. I submitted the Will Call request at 12pm. The UPS where it will be kept closes at 6pm.

How long does it take for Will Call to kick in? Anyone have experience with it? I vaguely remember that they will notify you once it is ready to be picked up. Do you think they will have the package ready there by the end of today?
 
fyi: I called and said that the Will Call service I requested online was for Next-Day Will Call. They changed the request to Same Day Will Call service.
