I submitted an order with NewEgg on Saturday, 1/10 and paid for their basic, UPS 3-day shipping. The package was scanned and picked up on Monday, 1/12, yet my tracking info says it's "on time" to be delivered on Thursday, 1/15. I can't seem to find their exact policy on their 3-day shipping, but is this shipment adhering to it since it's more like 4 business days? I know there's nothing I can really do about it if it isn't, I mean, it's only one day and I'm not going to bitch about that, it's more of a curiosity thing.

call and complain to UPS and you may get monetary credit (they said they'd do this for me in a similar situation) but it may be going to newegg instead. ;)

next day = 13th
2 day shipping = 14th
3 day shipping = 15th

This. How do people not understand shipping.

FYI: Pay for the service you want. Need it overnight? Pay for it. Shipping ground? Don't expect it in 3 days, *even if the tracking shows it's 10 miles away from your house*. It may take 2 more days for it to be put on the truck. Delivery schedule includes the "last mile", overnight/2-day/3-day will take priority over ground. They aren't holding it because they want to, they are holding it because you didn't pay for a faster delivery time and someone else did.

Eh I didn't take into account that just because it scanned and entered into UPS's system on the 11th, I was thinking it went like this

next business day = 12th
2 day shipping = 13th
3 day shipping = 14th

Not realizing that delivery on the 12th would essentially be "same day" instead of next day. I think what really threw me was their estimated delivery was originally the 14th and I thought that lined up nicely with 3-day shipping, when it got pushed back I thought "wait a minute" and didn't think it through ;)

And Phoenix, FYI, no need for the lecture. If you read my OP, you'll see I don't give a damn when the package shows up ;)

Unfourtantly that happens a lot since any retailer can create a shipment if they have a UPS account but not actually ship it that day (their weekly pickup's may be a different day etc...)

This isn't UPS's fault though, it's all on the retailer and them getting the shipment out the day they create the shipment/label/etc...

Ummm, since the 11th was a Sunday he should have pretty much assumed it wouldn't go out. That's not the fault of UPS or the retailer

Oh I know, it just baffles me how many people don't understand that 3-5 day shipping may indeed take 5 days.

Actually 2-day/3-day takes priority over ground if the next day is the deadline. I've seen a package come to San Jose in the afternoon to get driven to Oakland at midnight, sit there a whole day, and finally come back down the next night on a two day delivery. TWICE already with Newegg. I've seen their ground shipments get loaded into a truck at midnight, arrive in Sunnyvale at 5am and get out for delivery that day. Yeah... Ground might be faster for me when Newegg ships from CA.
