I'm not sure why, but I've personally voluntarily signed up for about 5 different survey companies over the years. Some seem much more interesting than others.

I only participate in the UPOTD. All others are a waste of time. Hmm, wait a minute....

I don't go out of my way to do surveys, but for example if someone on ATOT posts a survey for homework or a class or something, I fill it out.
