When I close the lid of my laptop and then re-open it later in the day I hit the power button, when it wakes up 1-3 copies of the calculator opens?

It bothers me more that I cannot figure out why it does this than just clicking the X's.

Thanks!

Make and model?

Plus, which Windows OS?

Also, does it happen if you put it to sleep via the start menu (instead of just closing the lid), then wake it from sleep via the power button?

have you checked the "start" folder in the programs menu to see if calc is one of the items in the start folder?

if it's in there, just delete the shortcut in the start folder and check to see if the problem still happens.

It's an HP / Compaq 8710w running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I never put the laptop to sleep via a "click", we always just shut the lid and when we want to use it again we open the lid and press the power button.

There is nothing in the Startup folder.

Thanks,
