Upload WU's??

I joined the Team Anandtech Seti@home team last week, completed 15wu's so far, but having a little trouble-
Forgive me if this dosen't belong here, but every time I complete a WU, I have to exit Seti@home, and restart it to upload my completed Unit. Anyone else have this problem? I'm using the Kid Orange Proxy setup, BTW.
Any suggestions??
and once again forgine me if this question dosen't belong here, but I wasn't gonna leave it to the Nefs over in OT to flame me miserably for asking! 😛

This is the place to ask these kinds of questions!

We LOVE to talk about WU's. 😀

Having to stop and restart is not normal.

How are you running SETI?

A) I have the GUI version running as my Screen Saver
B) I have a command line window open and I run it from there.
C) I have it installed as a service.
D) I am using SETI DRIVER
E) I am using SETI HIDE
F) None of the above.

I have - A
the screensaver version, but I run it all the time, and close and disable it when I gotta do other things. it's too bad, 'cause when I go to bed, and wake up, or go to work and come home, I've found that it sits for hours, waiting to upload, hours that could've been used to crunch! oh, man the wasted CPU time annoys me!

mattyrug, please follow the seti link in my sig and read.
The GUI is the lesser way to do seti - there is a better way, where you can get more WU's done in less time and also cache a bunch of them so you don't run out.

I take it that you are on-line all the time. (eg. cable modem, DSL, ...)

Did you click the option to let it connect to send completed WUs?

Or do you have it set to have you connect to send the WU's?

Edit: (If he likes the pretty colours let him play with it.) 😉

I am online 24/7 and set it to automatcally connect when it needs to.
I run the GUI because I have different hardware profiles, and need to be able to disable/change programs, and devices, and settings that start up with windows. Sometimes I need 100% of my CPU devoted to Audio and/or Video.

You can still run the CLI with the SetiDriver. Can even run it as a service if you're running, say, W2K.
