Upload archived email to Gmail?

Like many of you here, I have tons of email from the last 5-8 years (some 100MB)
Miraculously, I have managed to not only hold on to it safely, but have also got most of it in OE.... now I would like to have it all uploaded to my Gmail account. That way I can quit worrying about archiving it, and second - i can search thru it all in a jiffy

I have checked out GML and Gexodus... each has some major limitations in terms of being able to get the sender's name and the original date right

anyone here tried doing the same and had better luck??

wow... nobody ever tried to do this?

I would think most people who have migrated to Gmail in the last year or so would feel a need to gather all their archived correspondence in one place to be able to manage it (and search through it) with ease...?

I did it with my hotmail account through the printable view > save as html, email to self with dozens of attachments. it was time consuming, but I did it.

I have over a gig of netscape mail that I would love to upload to GMAIL too.

I have emails back from 1997. Fun to go read every once in a while and to pull stuff out of .

I hear from some websites that talk about such stuff that Google is working on something that will take care of this... if they gave you 2.5GB space, i am sure they will provide a way to use it, but Google's own web site says nothing on the subject.....
