For some reason, I cannot recall the correct explaination on why things are done they way they are done.
So the landlord has this network which is the standard DSL Modem --> Router --> Bunch of Switches
What's the advantage of using the uplink port to connect the routers to all the switches as opposed to just connecting it port to port? (besides the fact that you waste a port) And if you use the uplink port, I could've sworn there was some story where you shouldn't use the port adjacent to the uplink port. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
