Ok i am new to PC gaming like very new i bought a computer from my friend and he told me its a little outta date that i should probably upgrade it a little i said thats fine im good with my hands just not good with the picking the right parts so i figured ill buy one already built and learn that way the computer has a ASUSTek--P8z68-V LX mother board Intel Core i7 2600k--Sandy Bridge chipset--Socket 1155 LGA CPU 16g DDR3 Ripjaw RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Graphics card so the question is is it really outta date? and what is the chip set i have read what do they do but new boards and cpus dont seem to have them? what would be some good upgrades down the line? :hmm::sneaky:

Actually, for a used rig that's a pretty good setup. The i7 processor is still very viable today, that's a good motherboard, plenty of RAM. The weak link for modern gaming is the GTX560... it's a little long in the tooth, but will play most stuff reasonably (I know, I have one and use it, still.)

Question for you: What kind of power supply (PSU) does it have... brand, model, watt rating?

+1 and a ssd with this will be great

Corsair cx 600 is the PSU so ssd and different graphics card?

The CX600 is a reasonable PSU, it's enough to handle the i7 and GTX560.

An SSD would improve every day use, I would recommend at least a 256GB one, something like the Crucial MX100, which has good performance at probably the best price point right now. Make sure you size your SSD so that you have at least 25% free space on it (with a 256GB, that means no more than 190GB on the drive, etc... )

A reasonable GPU upgrade would be a GTX760, which are sub-$200 now, or, if your budget allows, a GTX970, which start at $350 and go up. There are comparable Radeon (AMD) cards... I just don't know anything about them.

...and, don't misunderstand... the GTX560 is a decent card! I would vote to run it for now and upgrade to a SSD first, actually before anything else.

Mm k i haven't played it yet so will see how it runs when i get it i don't play alot of demanding games im sure its more than enough for me the most demanding game i wanna play is day z and arma 3 other then that just small stuff for now but thanks this helps..

Yeah i plan on that first and a h75 or h80i water cooler the cooler that's on it is stock witch is fine im sure but i would rather run cooler then the normal..
