I have a 17in CRT and 6600gt. I play World of Warcraft almost exclusively atm. Im looking to upgrade to either a 19'' or 20.1'' Widescreen LCD and a good video card to run at acceptable FPS with lots of action on the screen. (big Raids and PvP)
AMD athlon 3000+ (venice) with 1gig of ram (OCZ). I also have a enermax 535w PS
Wondering a few things;
1) which LCD would be good or should i wait for new models in the next few months? ($350 max)
I like what i have read about the NEC monitor, but $600+ is way too much. I have heard the Viewsonic is nice but has some problems. I have heard similar things about the DELL.
2) Which video card would be best in WoW both performance and graphic quality? (nvidia or ati) ($200-$250)
The x1900gt looks nice as does the x1800xt. Nvidia has the 7800 and 7900 options in that same price range but seem to be lacking compared to ATI. The problem is i cant find any recent reviews of video cards in WoW.
3) Will upgrading the processor to a dual core (AMD) and adding another 1gig of ram be worth the cost? ($300 or so)
I would really like to get a new Intel setup but with the prices and the changes coming soon i have decided to stay with AMD till after Xmas and then see what happens with intel, but since im upgrading the video card i was wondering if upgrading the processor to a lower cost AMD dual core processor and more ram will give any significant upgrade in performance or will the video card upgrade with the monitor be enough?
