Upgrading Xp Home to Xp Pro problems

I wanted to setup a remote desktop connection so i can connect to my pc at work, and i had an extra copy of XP Pro, so i just considered upgrading my copy of Home. After the upgrade, when i log into windows it takes about 5 mins to get my internet connection working. I am using Wireless internet,so i tried uninstalling the drivers and re-installing, no go. I checked msconfig/registry for startup programs and everything seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

BTW, i'm running a Dell 8400/1gig ram/seagate 120gb/usr 802.11g turbo wireless/onboard gigabit Broadcom NIC/Ati X300 PCI-E/Audigy 2
