Upgrading...which XP to get?

I am thinking about upgrading my system (see below). While I have enjoyed my PIII700, I want to go with AMD on my next upgrade.

Here's my questions:

1) Which XP is the best price/performance?
2) Which XP (&stepping) is best for overclocking?
3) Which Motherboard is the best for the XP? (guess I need to ask on the other thread)

Looking to stay in the ~$300 range for CPU and m/b (I know I'll need RAM too)
Looking to use mostly for gaming and some video editing (burning VCDs etc)

I thought I buy the lowest XP but make sure I get a m/b that has the longest upgrade path for larger processors.

Any feedback would be great

overclocking much?

xp1600+ agoia 0213 is by far the best percentage overclocker

sometimes xp1800+ can overclock good too (i had a pretty good one, didnt look at stepping though sorry)

xp2400+ (newest) is also a decent overclocker for some

if you want the best overclock board, id say it is epox 8k3a (8k3a+ for raid)
many oc features

but if you wnat a board with newer features im not quite sure right now
maybe try www.newegg.com to find a board that sounds good , and google.com to search for some reviews

asus a7v8x has some nice features

I say you should get a nforce 2 mobo and xp 1600 agoia and bump the fsb to ~166mhz and you're set. you will also need a nice heat sink / fan.
