Upgrading Vista HP x64 to Ultimate x64

HP machine came with Vista HP x64 but we need to join it to a domain, which it can't. HP does not offer the machine in Ultimate so only option now is to upgrade. I just want to make sure that if we do upgrade, all current drivers and software will remain intact. Basically the machine will be same except now it's running Ultimate. I need to make sure this works before making the jump and possibly wasting $. TIA.

if you start the upgrade process from within windows then yes it will keep all your drivers and programs

Ok, I looked at this some more and now I'm confused about what disc I'll need. Our vendor says I'll need the full version, from my understanding I can use a Vista Ultimate upgrade disc, and a few sites say I need a Anytime Upgrade disc. Which is it?
