Hi!

im thinking of upgrading the video on my 1200mhz thunderbird/GF2 (4x agp)
What card do you recommend for this kind of system?
i just have to prolong the life of it couse i dont want to buy a new comp just yet.

The high end ones seems to be abit overkill so i have been locking at:

Radeon 9500 pro ~230$ in sweden
Radeon 9600 pro ~the same price

GF4 Ti 4200 ~150$
GF4 Ti 4800se ~230$ ( is this card bad or why isnt it reviewed on any site?)

GF fx 5600 ultra ~250$
GF fx 5200 ultra ~200$

im leaning towards the 9500 pro couse of all the greate reviews but is a card that old worth 230$?
would be really gratefull for inputs on this

thanks in advance!!!

ti4200 has the best price/performance ratio. I think anything higher like a 9500 pro/9600 pro would be overkill since you're cpu is going to be a bottle neck. A 4800se is not bad, it's the same as a ti4400 but has agp 8x. It is definitley not worth $80 more than a ti4200, since pretty much any ti4200 will overclock past the speeds of a 4800se. The fx5200ultra is slower than a ti4200, so that one is definitley out. The fx5600 ultra will perform better than the ti4200 is it's a revision 2 ultra, but even if it is, it's not worth another $100.

Thanks for the fast reply!

ok so you think a 4200 will be best.
then there is just the big question of witch one to get... .:)

i have seen that asus has one called:
ASUS V9280S SUPERFAST GeForce 4 Ti4200-8X

is seems to have a fast memory (600mhz) and is abit overclocked. is
this something to get (190$) or should one get a cheaper one (150$)?
