upgrading video on AMD Athlon 64 Socket 754 system

hello, my folks just got a new ASUS 22" 1920x1080 monitor for an old HP a750e. It has SIS 760 integrated graphics with max resolution of 1680x1050.

I want to know is there any reason I can't install an AGP 8x video card that will do full resolution, via HDMI. Something like this SUS Radeon HD 3450 512MB 64-bit DDR AGP 8X from newegg or FS/FT.

there's no reason why an AGP 3450 won't work.

It looks like a winner for this system, I'd just like to find one for ~$30. The newegg link for the openbox Asus 3450 HDMI went from "OOS" to "deactivated" just after I posted the link above.

If you don't need the HDMI audio, you could just use an AGP GeForce 6200, with a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor.

This ASUS VH222H-P is the monitor, it does have DVI, so I wouldn't need an adapter. My parents just got a new LCD TV as well, thought it would be nice and simple to go to one style of video cable for everything (if it's roughly the same price).

I would be ok power-wise with the 6200 right? The HP has a 300W PSU powering an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.4GHz). Also, I've never heard of this Zotec brand, are they reliable? I'm familiar and comfortable with Asus and even ECS (had a trusty ECS/SiS (630 I think?) board for a Duron back in the day).

I see the Asus HD 3450 is back up for $33 OOS
I think I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks and pick it up if/when it becomes available. If it doesn't, I'll grab a 6200.
