Upgrading Video Cards for Notebooks.

Negative, the only cards I know of that the 1705/9400 will take are the X1400, 7800Go, 7800GTX.

Possibly a 6800Go / Ultra, but haven't seen anyone do it.

If dell doesn't offer the card, you can't swap it in, period. Dell uses a proprietary formfactor for the vidcards (it's neither AXIOM nor MXM, but kind of a little bit of both), and they're only swappable between a few laptop models. So, if later down the line, Dell offers a 1705/9400 with an X1800 mobility, you might be able to talk a phone rep into selling you one, and swap that in (along with updating the BIOS to recognize the new card).

Also note that you have to have dedicated video to upgrade. If you buy one with integrated graphics, the socket the vid card goes into isn't even there.

The comp your looking at have intergrated graphic and to my knowledge u can't upgrade...unless u can find a computer guru that want to mess with your mother board and cut it put?!?!?!?
