Upgrading video card on win2k question

A friend has asked me to install a new ati vid card on his win2k machine.

He currently has a ATI Rage 3D card, and wants to install a Radeon 7500 (its a business PC, so nothing fancy)

I am not familiar with win2000. Heres the thing, do I have to uninstall the current ati driver and install the windows driver for a standard PCI VGA adapter prior to swapping the cards? I attempted to do this with him over the phone, but he could not find the generic driver option to install from the install hardware list.

Even better, if someone could give me an outline of the steps, or point me to a web site, it would be much appreciated.
I have installed/swapped several graphics boards before, on 98SE and XP, but never 2k.

Thanks,
Shaun

thanks, however I am still unclear if there is anything needed to be done before I install the new card.
(do i need to remove the old drivers and load a standard pci vga driver before swapping vid cards to avoid driver conflicts?)

thanks again,
Shaun

Hmmm....according to my ATI book, all you have to do is uninstall any software from the add/remove software program in control panel, reboot, shut down, and install the new card.
