OK, I am in the process of upgrading 2 computers. I have tried to make some parts choices that would create a "fast" system yet would be reasonably priced. I need to replace 2 motherboards w/memory, 2 processors and 1 video board. Here are my choices:
Motherboard: Abit NF7-S rev 2.0 - $106.99 @ Newegg
Memory: Crucial PC 3200 256 meg DDR - $47.99 eac (2 per MB for a total of $95.80 per system)
Processor: AMD Athlon (Barton) XP 2500 retail - $91.00
Video Board: either an Nvidia 4200 of something like an ATI 9500/9600.
So what do you think? Can I get prices better at another place? What about the choice of motherboard? Any other recommendations? I am also VERY open to recommendation for the video board. I wanted to spend about $100 for the best I could get (but am open to suggestions).
Thanks ....
