Upgrading to XP with raid

I have build a few computers but never messed with raid so I will take any advice I can get, I have a guy that wants me to upgrade his windows me to XP pro, A7V133 with raid, I get half way upgraded and the computer locks so I was just going to leave the me on it and tell him to see someone that has worked with raid so I canceled the upgrade but now everytime it boots it says upgrade to windows XP or cancel and if you don't hit the keyboad fast to cancel the upgrade it will just lock up, I deleted everything to do with windows XP but it still boots that way and the guy still wants XP
 
Setup the array and do a fresh install. Hit F6 and install the latest drivers of the Raid controller (Asus is probably Promise).
