Upgrading to new Athlon system

I'm after some recomendations for a new Athlon motherboard. I am currently looking at a KT400 chipset from an Abit KD7 motherboard. I'll hopefully be putting a 2000XP chip in it.

I'm not wanting RAID etc. And I not wanting to spead a fortune.

Cost, the nforce systems are about £40 more. KT400A what is "just around the corner" How long?
