Hi Everyone,

I have a Shuttle AK32A mb thjat has the latest Bios revision installed, I`m currently running a T-Birb Athlon 1100 cpu, the latest bios revision allows the use of an Xp cpu all the way to a 2400, including one called a " Thorton ". What is the differance between a standard xp2400 and a xp2400 thorton?
Thanks, Richard

The Thorton core is newer than the other variant of 2400+ (Thoroughbred is the older one). Functionally they're the same thing. Looking at the CPU-support list for your board, they confirm that it supports "2400+" and they show it supporting some of the Thorton's little brother, the Applebred-core Duron, so I'll cautiously venture that it would support the Thorton 2400+ (I see you already have your BIOS up-to-date or else that would be the first preparation to make). If you'd like to hedge your bets, pick the Thoroughbred-core 2400+.

Hope that helps :) Welcome to the Forums.
