Upgrading to AMD Athlon FX60

I am using a Athlon64 3500 Winchester, in a Asus A8NSLI Deluxe Motherboard, and want to upgrade to a Athlon FX60, as it is the highest performance cpu available for socket 939.-
Are there any issues or incompatibilies, besides upgrading to the last bios ?
Should my actual fan cooler fit in the new cpu ?.-
Thanks

Go read the BIOS information on the latest version and see which CPU's it supports. I wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

You'd want to buy a better heatsink, unless the FX-60 you're planning on buying is retail. The heatsink from a Winchester 3500 won't cool two cores at 2.6 Ghz.

you could get the opty 185, it has the same specs as the fx-60 and it's only $335 at the egg
