Upgrading to a GTX 1080 from a GTX 780ti

I right now have a GTX 780ti and having stuttering in Forza Horizon 3 PC version. Settings are 30 fps cap, 1920x1080, 4x MSAA, 16x AF, texture quality on high, all other settings set to Ultra. I still get some stuttering with these settings. I'd like to play with 60 fps cap and have the texture quality on Ultra without stuttering in this game. Will the GTX 1080 be able to handle those settings or is it my CPU? My CPU is an i7-4930k and not overclocked.

Forza is very VRAM depending iirc so the 3GB is limiting you. However people still have issues even with Titan XP @ 1080p with stuttering sometimes.
