My gf needs a ram upgrade on her laptop, but I have no clue on how to go about it. Do i just need a normal stick of ram (what speed?)? And how do i actually install it? Never touched the interior or a laptop, so any info is appreciated!

thanks

You'll need laptop RAM - it's much smaller than normal sticks.

RAM is usually under a small removable panel on the back of your laptop - check your manual. Some laptops have the RAM under the keyboard instead; this is especially common on mac laptops.

Laptop RAM is semi-standardized. You need the older DDR (not DDR2) type, of at least 266mhz (PC2100) speed or bettter - PC2700 or PC3200 would also work well.

You want "SO-DIMM" memory - it's smaller than the normal type.
