So recently my videocard has broken.
I was thinking of which is a great update for mine, but then the first problem comes:

I only have a Z400-08FC from AOpen which provides 400 watt of power.

http://www.ciao-shopping.nl/AOpen_Z400_08FC_voeding_400_Watt__843694

What is a good update for this card, which i can fit into my system?
System;

Intel Pentium D 950 3.4 GHz
2x 1 GB of DDR 2
1 DVD R/w
Just a normal motherboard.
2 HHD 7200 rpm

Doesnt matter for me its its a Radeon or Geforce.

Disregard what I said in the first post. Apparently manufacture website has useless info.

Another forum thread posts the psu as providing 276w on 12V rails. Make sure that the psu isn't the culprit first.

If it's fine, check what version of the CPU you have: 130W or 95W.
Use CPU-Z:
SL94P (B1): 130 W
SL95V (C1): 95 W
SL9K8 (D0): 95 W

Generally, 10W/drive and a few watts for fans would leave you maybe 220w to be safe.

A 5750 is 86W so that's fine. 5770 is probably fine at 108W as well if you have the 95W CPU.

you can "edit" your posts instead of just posting new replies over and over. what res do you plan on playing games at. that cpu is really slow and would be worse than me lowering my E8500 to 1.6 so a 5670 might make the most sense.

You have the C1 stepping which is 95W.

Pentium D is pretty slow and it's not a native dual core.

5670 would be fine or even gt240 because problem is that the ASRock board you have there only has x4 bandwidth for PCIe.

U serious? I thought it wasnt that slow but oh well, just at 1024

Yes, Toyota is serious. By today's standards a Pentium D is dog-slow for gaming.

And gaming at 1024 resolution? I have to ask are you serious?

Well its still fine for cod 4/6, Starcraft and such.
Well normal i play at 1024, does it matter?
I dont like the higher resolutions anyway.

Well i think im going for the HD 5670 1 Gb. Here they sell it in store for a 119 euro.
Isnt that a Rip?

a Pentium D will struggle in some games and doesn't come remotely close to allowing a decent gpu to run at its best settings.

why would you not like a higher res?

what does the gt240 go for there?

Because it isnt really an update for now anyways. And a Radeon 5670 Gt 1 gb cost like 50 euro more so it isnt that much.

5670 for 119? best to wait. isn't the 6850 only supposed to be 189 euros? I don't see how they can sell 5670 for 119. Perhaps try an e-tailer? Could try gt240 or maybe a 4850/4830/4770 if there's any available for about the same price as the 5670.

Given your resolution and power limitations 5670 is probably your best bet. 240 is also an option and if its substantially cheaper go with that. Its slower than the 5670 but at your resolution it probably wont be an issue.
