I'm currently using the Taisol CEK 733092 (that's the small one) HSF on my Duron @933. While it already uses a comparably silent (29dba) fan, it's still to loud for me, and I'd like to use another extremely silent fan, a Papst NGML, which is, according to a German site as well as the store, at about 19dba the most silent fan available (link (german)).
I now wonder two things: Most importantly, can I put the fan on the Taisol? It's a standard 60x60x25mm fan, and the store support wasn't sure if it fit the Taisol. They also said even though it maybe didn't fit regularily, it shouldn't be too difficult to put it on the heatsink by different means. Is that true, and if so, how can I make it hold on to the heatsink? Any experiences with modding a Taisol CEK?
The other thing is if the fan will be strong enough to cool the Duron. However since most likely nobody has ahd experiences with a Papst NGML cooler, nobody can really help me there. It has been tested on other heatsinks than the Taisol, with remarkably good results, as seen here (german again, however the table should be self-explanatory).
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
