Upgrading system, need help!

I have a athlon 1.2ghz 256meg of DDRram 2100 and a standard geforce 3 card. I'm looking to upgrade my system. What would be the best video card to get for my current system that would not be bottlenecked. Would a ATI 9500 Pro be good or could I go to the 9700 Pro. My mobo is only a 4XAGP. I'm hoping by adding another 256 meg of ram and getting a better video card I'll be able to run halflife 2 fairly well. I would appreciate any good suggestions. Thanks.

i would get the 9500 Pro and use any left over money for a CPU/RAM upgrade

with 256 of ram and a 1.2, there is gonna be a bottle neck
