Upgrading secondary system drive

I have moved my \users directory, and some programs, to another hard drive (z: ) as my primary drive (c: ) is a relatively small SSD. Now I want to upgrade that secondary drive to something larger and faster but I foresee a problem. Moving the data shouldn't be a problem (robocopy or a drive imaging program) but setting it to the right drive letter might be an issue. Is there a way to change drive letter assignments outside of windows?

you can set the drive assignment on another computer sure. but the o/s may not necessarily agree with your changes 🙂
