If I have the $30 unlimited 3G data plan, and I upgrade to some LTE-capable phone, but do not have LTE coverage in my area, do I have to pay for an LTE data plan? Does my plan upgrade automatically to $30 unlimited LTE? I'm not sure how this works.

I won't have coverage where I am living (Peoria IL) this year, is there a way to find out an expected deployment date for this area?

If you have unlimited data on 3G you will have unlimited data on 4G for the same price no matter when you do it or what the coverage is.

To clarify, everyone that has a Verizon data plan has a "4G" plan, you just have to have (a) an LTE capable phone and (b) LTE coverage to utilize it.

Verizon's website doesn't show any plans for Peoria in 2011, although they expect to have Springfield, Champaign, and Bloomington covered by the end of the year. I'd guess first half of next year.

Yea I saw that map and made that guess as well. Peoria is no small city, so if Bloomington and Carbondale have it, I'm sure it will not be too far behind.
