Upgrading old monitor to LCD

My husband's Dell Dimension 4500 has a Geoforce 4 MX 420 and I was wondering if this LCD monitor would be compatible.

BenQ FP202W Black 20.1" 8ms Widescreen LCD Monitor

Recommended Resolution 1680x1050
*Please verify your video card can support the recommended resolution of 1680x1050.

Can someone verify this for me? I haven't been able to find anything on the web.

The card can - question is whether your drivers do.

Windows: Install the latest available driver for this card, and then see what the "List All Modes" button has in store. After unchecking "Hide modes this monitor cannot display", you'll find /all/ supported modes in there.

Linux/X: Nevermind, anything the hardware can do can be configured.

I uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled the new NVIDIA driver for my particular model. Now I have a new problem, massive choppiness ingame (world of warcraft). I wasn't having any graphics problems before....*sigh*
