Upgrading nVidia cards - driver question

I'm upgrading from my 8800 GTX to a 260 Core 216. I'm running XP, and have the most recent released 180 drivers (not the 180.84 pre-release).

Can I simply power down, swap cards, and power up? Or should I uninstall the drivers, power down/swap, power up, and reinstall the drivers?

Thanks.

Yep, shouldn't be a problem with Nvidia cards. The only time you would want to make sure to roll back drivers is if you have a driver that supports 1 card, but not the other. For example, there was a point where Nvidia was only including new parts in the .inf file as they launched.

You may still need to reinstall the drivers once you upgrade but you shouldn't run into any problems. I swapped the 8800GTX and GTX 280 a few times when I upgraded to check a few things out.
