Upgrading Notebook video card?

QueBert

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600, trying to newer games with it's Gforce Go5200 is frustrating. Dell offers a ATi Mobility 9600 Pro as the top card when you order the notebook. My question is does Dell sell these sepreatly? I can't find crap on their web site about this. I know a 9600 ain't the best video card out there, but it'd be worlds better for gaming.

I've seen a few laptop video cards on ebay so you probably could get hold of one - maybe give Dell a call and see if they can help first?

No, you generally cannot replace them. They are integrated into the motherboard on lappies.

Lappies aren't upgradable except for RAM.

Apparently there are exceptions.
