Upgrading my X700pro 256 GDDR3 to a ......??

I'm playing shooters like Doom3 , Quake4. And the "Ultra" Setting on Doom3 requires at least 500 megs of texture memory. I've heard people saying still the that X800 is the way to go , but still with 256 megs of memory , I won't be able to run ultra quality right? Anyone help point an AGP'er in the right direction? I've got the X1600 in my cart and ready to hit the buy button here.....HELP!!!

Forget 512MB of memory on a lower end card. Its WORTHLESS. And besides that there is virtually no IQ difference between High and Ultra (its like JPEG vs BMP; no real difference other than size). 256MB is still PERFECTLY sufficient to run todays modern games. With that in mind I'd recommend a X800 GTO in AGP if you can find it. Or get a nVidia product thats in your price range.

They have an X800 on the shelf at the Best Buy here in town....although I plan on doing some snooping around NewEgg , and the net first.
That card does have a slower core and memory speed , but will the 256 meg run Doom3 in Ultra? I guess that it my real question here.
