Hi there guys,

Here are the specs of my HP Pavillion zd8255ea laptop,

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz
Windows XP Home (SP2)
2 x 512MB DDR RAM
ATI Moblity Radeon X600

Basically, i'm unaware how i'd go about or even if i could upgrade my current ATI Moblity Radeon X600 to something like an ATI Moblity Radeon X1600.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dell had a few laptops you could upgrade GPUs on, but generally it's not an option. Sometimes you can find homebrew methods of doing it, but you'll void your warranty. If you call the manufacturer and ask about it and they tell you it's not possible, I'd forget it unless the warranty is worth nothing to you for some reason.

Some ASUS laptops can be upgraded, too. The z71v for example has MXM (or was it Axiom?).

If it is an industry-standard removable PCIe MiniPCI card, you *should* be able to upgrade it.

But you WILL void you warranty, and how much faster will it REALLY be?
