I like Verizon, and I'm planning on staying. I have a really old Motorola (2-3 years?) that absolutely needs to go.

On my upgrade page, I have the following options:

Kyocera K404 - $20
Nokia 3589i - $20
Nokia 6015i - $20
LG VX4600 - $30
Samsung SCH-a650 - $30
LG VX4500 - $40
Audiovox CDM8910 - $50
LG VX3200 - $60
Samsung SCH-a670 - $80
LG VX6100 - $100

I would have a really hard time spending anywhere near $100 on a new phone, especially how fast things seem to change, and how few features I would probably use. I have friends who upgrade all the time, and I don't think they even know why.

Any opinions on the above? My bill is currently $45 after tax with long distance, more minutes than I need, and free nights/weekends. So if there are features that require a higher monthly charge, I'm probably not interested. ;)

I'm particularly interested in brand, quality, etc. Thx in advance.

my g/f has the 670 .. pretty decent phone. I'd recommend the LG VX6100 if you want a camera. It's tri-mode, has a speakerphone, and a half decent camera.

I have the VX4500 .. great phone. Digital only, though. The speakerphone rocks. Not allowed to have a camera phone at work, so no camera for me.

So there's nothing wrong with brands then?

Honestly - I never even heard of LG before, but that's only because I have purposely ignored anything about cell phones.

I have to admit - I don't have a camera and it would be nice for "not that much more." I'll have to check out some reviews on it.

Thx for the feedback.

LG makes GREAT cell phones. That VX6100 is a great phone, essentially it's the VX6000 with some added features (always on B&W LED except for the colored, on-demand OLED on the 6000). I get pretty good reception, in the basement of my house with one signal bar (the minimum the phone shows), I can make/recieve calls about 90% of the time.

I bought my VX6000 (FAR) expecting to replace it when the VX8000 came out next year. Honestly, as little as I use the camera, I don't think the 1MP camera on the VX8000 is all that important to me and I'll probably keep the VX6000 for a long time.

If you don't want a camera, the VX4600 is a great choice too. I think the VX4600 is essentially a VX6000 without the camera.

LG= Lucky Goldstar or they have been know as Goldstar in the US a long time ago.
LG is a HUGE brand in Korea ...major competitor to Samsung.

i have an a650, and I love it for the most part. The only thing I wish this had, that even my old audiovox 9155 had, is speakerphone.

My dad has vx4500, and I prefer it to my a650. He is iin the HVAC business, and beats the crap out of his phone. It has held up well for almost a year.
