Upgrading my 5850 video card, suggestions please?

I've been thinking of getting a 6970 or a GTX 570 to replace my old 5850. I do a lot of gaming at 1900 resolution, single display. I am torn between the 6970 and 570. I have been overall happy with the ATI drivers. When I use to have an nvidia card, it was a tedious task updating drivers with so many weekly beta drivers released

Any suggestions on the pros/cons and differences betweeen these two cards?

That's hardly a noticeable upgrade... I wouldn't bother myself. New cards are coming out shortly. You've "endured" a HD5850 for so long, you can make it another month or two

yeah I agree with Qbah. also you are going to need to oc that cpu if you want to get full use out of your next gpu upgrade.

Get Afterburner, get an easy 25% OC on the 5850 without breaking a sweat.

Yes, see how well it will OC and hold out for another 3-6 months. 5850 and 5870 are AMD's long life release ala NVIDIA 8800.
